Covid so far has been the biggest shock I’ve faced. No going out? No solace? No going to masjid?so many people loosing their jobs. This has never happened to me in all my lifetime.I have to write this open letter to our president UHURU kenyatta.

Dear mr president UHURU Mwigai kenyatta,

hope someone will be able to get this letter to our presidency.

This letter is written by a a young man passionate about our country and all its citizens. A citizen who has rolled up his sleeves and dedicated his life to make a real lasting difference in kinna ward of Isiolo county where I was born and raised. And a man who got involved in numerous outreaches to help where help is needed, like the the needy, orphans , elderly in our society and the many disadvantaged part of my society through volunterily humanitarian activities.

Mr kenyatta, I have  been part of various  factories that employs 100 and so staffs in central part of kenya as my daily hustle, yes this factories provide a small drop in the massive ocean of unemployment. But majority of their staffs are youth from all part of the republic., who had little or no formal education or employment.

I have dedicated my life to making a real difference, but Mr Kenyatta, as a citizen of kenya, I need to speak up, we can no longer accept status quo as it is now.

According to harsh predictions, we would have seen more deaths right now, higher  number of positive cases of Covid-19 . We could have supported you on this decision for hard lockdown if only your intentions were to  get our hospitals to cope with increased demand on ventilators. So many healthcare workers gave their lives to save lives to date. But we object to your sudden and unreasonable lockdown of the five counties which happened to be our main market.

Shockingly, you shut us down without warning and  provision of alternative ways of survival, many of us are jobless now,yet we got bills to pay.you have locked us from our daily hustles; I'm just wondering if you in your right consciences, considered where we are going to get our rents from since we are jobless now! where do u expect us to get foods from? Then how do you expect us to fight covid-19 while we are hungry?Don't you know that hunger is more dangerous enemy than covid-19?

Mr president, as the continued ban on the hospitality industry  and restaurants not allowing to serve foods while  most us are working on that sector of economy , didn't you see that your order has directly affected so many households..? people left with completely no options ,you have subjected alot of hard-working kenya's to severe pooverty and this is likely to cause more disaster than covid-19 itself.

Then you went a head and borrowed more funds from IMF?After the last loan you borrowed varnished in corruption?I read about all this  and all the problems of mismanagement of economy for the past 7 years of your government under your watch. And you admitting to people stealing sum of 2billion kenyan shillings on a daily basis, I get lividly angry.

Today we need you to make a tough decision to lift the bans on lockdown and curfew as well for us to  get back to business, as you are not seeing the devastating effects of children and parents going hungry daily, now they have nothing in their possession making the situations really devastating for them. These are people who WANT to work and who HAD work, but no longer can, due to the lockdown.

Why are ministers and government officials not in jail for corruption? Why has it taken years and those stealing 2 billion from your government everyday still walking free?

Mr kenyatta am not a politician yet, and I really want to get involved in politics as I love all people of this country - gender, colour, age, religious differences are all exactly the same to me, and if you get to know me you will know that is who I am.

But as citizens of kenya we can no longer stand by and just sit back and see our beautiful country engulfed in borrowed money which just keeps accumulating.

Mr kenyatta , from a devoted  kenyan youth hear our plea today as I know I am speaking out for most of kenyan citizens.

Unlocked us please.

From farsi.
